Flu Season

(H1N2 virus under a microscope)
It's that time again and we need to think about those flu vaccines. Recommendations are for vaccination to begin in September, as soon as the vaccines become available.

ACOG (American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology) recommends flu vaccines for pregnant women. You should receive the flu shot; not the FluMist nasal spray if you are pregnant. If you are breastfeeding, the FluMist is fine.

The CDC says "The 2010-2011 flu vaccine will protect against an influenza A H3N2 virus, an influenza B virus and the 2009 H1N1 virus that caused so much illness last season." Best Blogger Tips
